The medical marijuana patient should reschedule their appointment if they do not have medical records in hand or sent by email on the day of their evaluation with our office. The patient needs to have all forms and medical records completed before the appointment, which can be done in our office the day of the appointment. Please arrive early to complete forms. Please note that if medical records are not obtained before the appointment there may be a delay on getting your cannabis card. We will need medical records to complete your information entered into the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission website.
It is highly recommended prior to the office visit that the patient should register for a patient account at the mmcc.maryland.gov website so that Maryland Cannabis Physicians can upload the letter of recommendation to the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission's website after the evaluation. If a patient is not registered then the patient will need to contact Maryland Cannabis Physicians when they have obtained their Patient ID so we can upload the information at that time. Information related to registration can be found on the commission's website mmcc.maryland.gov.
All payments are required at the time of the appointment, we accept cash and credit card payments. Fees listed below:
Initial medical cannabis evaluation $200.00
Renewal of cannabis card for established patient $150.00
Additional Fees:
Urgent medical cannabis evaluation (within 24 hrs)- $100.00
Medical record retrieval- $30.00
During the medical cannabis evaluation the patient will first see one of our qualified staff members. All of the information will be reviewed and any background information needed from the patient will be documented for our records. The patient will then see a physician for review of the medical records and the specific medical condition for which the patient is applying for their medical cannabis card. The doctor will perform a focused medical exam and if approved we will write the letter of recommendation at this time.
The doctor will explain and discuss the risks and benefits of medical cannabis and how they relate to each individual patient. Specific questions regarding vehicles of administering medical cannabis will be left for the dispensaries to discuss as this is their area of expertise. We will upload the patient’s letter the day of the evaluation unless the patient did not register with the commission and in this case they will have to contact us to do when they receive their patient ID.
The patient will have to monitor the commission’s website after they have filled out the necessary info and the letter of recommendation has been uploaded. The commission will post approval/denials online and the time between registration completion and approval/denial is determined by the commission and questions/delays should be forwarded to the commission.
